May 7, 2026 Signing of a Memorandum of Cooperation between Mr. Hayashi, Minister for Internal Affairs and Communications and Mr. Osmochescu, Minister of Economic Development and Digitalization of the Republic of Moldova

　On May 2, 2026, Mr. Hayashi, Minister for Internal Affairs and Communications, visited the Ministry of Economic Development and Digitalization of the Republic of Moldova. During the visit, Minister Hayashi signed a Memorandum of Cooperation (MoC) in the digital field between the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications and the Ministry of Economic Development and Digitalization and held a bilateral meeting with Mr. Osmochescu, Minister of Economic Development and Digitalization.

　The Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications and the Ministry of Economic Development and Digitalization of the Republic of Moldova signed a MoC on the following items:

• 　(1) Safe, secure and trustworthy AI
• 　(2) Cybersecurity
• 　(3) Open, secure and resilient digital infrastructure

　During the bilateral meeting, the two sides exchanged views in the digital field based on the MoC and confirmed that they would further strengthen their cooperation.
