- Partial Report from the Information and Communications Council -
The Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications (MIC) today received a partial report from the Information and Communications Council, chaired by ENDO Nobuhiro, Special Advisor to NEC Corporation, on the "Technical Requirements for Autonomous Maritime Radio Devices (AMRD)," which are part of the "Technical Requirements for Maritime Radio Communication Equipment" (Consultation No. 50, dated April 23, 1990).

1 Background
The Aeronautical and Maritime Radiocommunications Committee under the ICT Subcommittee of the Information and Communications Council has been conducting studies toward the introduction of Autonomous Maritime Radio Devices (AMRD). Today, MIC received a partial report from the Information and Communications Council on the “Technical Requirements for Autonomous Maritime Radio Devices (AMRD),” which are part of the "Technical Requirements for Maritime Radio Communication Equipment" (Telecommunications Technology Council Consultation No. 50, dated April 23, 1990).
2 Future plans
Based on this partial report, MIC plans to promptly develop relevant regulations etc.
