June 25, 2026 Publication of the “Interim Report of the Public-Private Conference on Information and Telecommunications Growth Strategies”

　The Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications (MIC) hereby publishes the “Interim Report of the Public-Private Conference on Information and Telecommunications Growth Strategies,” which has been formulated by the Public-Private Conference on Information and Telecommunications Growth Strategies (Chair: Minister of Internal Affairs and Communications Hayashi).

1　 Background

　On January 23, 2026, the Public-Private Conference on Information and Telecommunications Growth Strategies was convened to examine strategic investments through public-private partnerships in the information and telecommunications sector, which was designated by the Council for Japan’s Growth Strategy as one of the strategic sectors to be supported comprehensively.

　This Public-Private Conference, with the participation of stakeholders from both the public and private sectors, has been conducting a comprehensive review, including the development of a public-private investment roadmap. The “Interim Report of the Public-Private Conference on Information and Telecommunications Growth Strategies,” which summarizes the interim results of these discussions, has now been formulated and is hereby published.

2　 Future Actions

　Based on this interim report and the government-wide “Japan’s Growth Strategy,” MIC will work in collaboration with public and private sector stakeholders to advance initiatives aimed at strategic investments in the information and telecommunications sector.
