June 26, 2026 Results of Fourth Australia-Japan Policy Dialogue for Telecommunications Resilience
On Tuesday, 23 June, the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications (MIC), with the Department of Infrastructure, Transport, Regional Development, Communications, Sport and the Arts and the Department of Home Affairs of Australia, held the fourth Australia-Japan Policy Dialogue for Telecommunications Resilience and the Track 1.5 Dialogue with industry from both countries.

4. Overview
In the policy dialogue, the participants shared information and exchanged opinions regarding initiatives relating to Open RAN, submarine cables, data centers, cybersecurity, emergency communications and online safety. The parties agreed to continue working together on policy issues common to both countries.
In the Track 1.5 dialogue, industry representatives from both Japan and Australia presented their telecommunication projects in the Indo-Pacific region and latest technologies. The parties reaffirmed that the public and private sectors would work together to further deepen bilateral cooperation.
