July 10, 2026 First Interim Report from the Information and Communications Council on “How to Promote Effective Use of Radio Waves to Adapt to Changes in the Social Environment”

 The Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications today received a first interim report from the Information and Communications Council (chaired by ENDO Nobuhiro, special advisor to NEC Corporation) on “How to Promote Effective Use of Radio Waves to Adapt to Changes in the Social Environment” (Consultation No. 30 dated February 3, 2025).

1  Background

 On Monday, February 3, 2025, the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications consulted to the Information and Communications Council on “How to Promote Effective Use of Radio Waves to Adapt to Changes in the Social Environment.”

 This theme was studied and examined by the Effective Use of Radio Waves Committee (chaired by FUJII Takeo, professor of the Advanced Wireless and Communication Research Center at the University of Electro-Communications) under the ICT Subcommittee of the Information and Communications Council. The first interim report was made at the Information and Communications Council's general meeting held today.

2  Future Plans

 Based on the first interim report, the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications will continue to promote the effective use of radio waves.
