September 30, 2026 Results of the Public Solicitation for "Research and Development for Expansion of Radio Wave Resources" to Be Newly Implemented from FY 2026 (Re-solicitation)

　The Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications (MIC) issued a public solicitation for "Research and Development for Expansion of Radio Wave Resources" to be newly implemented from FY 2026. The public solicitation was conducted from Wednesday, July 1, 2026, to Thursday, July 30, 2026. The proposal submitted underwent external evaluation and was selected based on the evaluation results.

1　 Overview

To respond to the growing needs for new radio wave usage, the MIC is conducting "Research and Development for Expansion of Radio Wave Resources." This R&D aims to reduce frequency congestion and enhance the efficient utilization of radio waves. The MIC issued a public solicitation for "Research and Development for Expansion of Radio Wave Resources" to be newly implemented from FY 2026, from Wednesday, July 1, 2026, to Thursday, July 30, 2026. The MIC received one application from a private company or other research institution for one R&D project.

2　 Selection Results

The MIC adopted the proposal based on the results of screening at the Meeting on Evaluations of R&D Based on Radio Wave Usage Fees.
