April 24, 2020 Appeal for Proposals for Use Cases of Trust Services
The Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications (MIC) will make an appeal for proposals from Saturday, April 25 through Monday, May 25, 2020, for use cases of trust services to use them as references for future discussions of a study meeting on a system for ensuring the reliability of data issued by organizations and a study meeting on the timestamp certification system.
1. Effect
In Society 5.0, where the integration of cyberspace and real space will advance, the importance of data will increase, and trust services, which serve as a mechanism for ensuring the authenticity and reliability of data, will be required as the foundation for supporting data distribution.
Demands for telework are further strengthened as a result of restrictions on going out due to the spread of novel coronavirus infection (COVID-19).
Under the current situation, it is expected that trust services will be utilized as a basis for promoting the smooth computerization of business.
Currently, the study meeting on a system for ensuring the reliability of data issued by organizations is examining a trust service mechanism (commonly known as the e-seal) to ensure the reliability of data issued by organizations. The study meeting on the timestamp certification system is examining the government’s specific system of service and business certification.
Therefore, MIC has decided to make this appeal for a wide range of proposals for e-seal and timestamp use cases and use them as references for future discussions at each study meeting.
