January 9, 2024 Announcement of a Summary of the Results of the FY2023 Survey on Actual Radio Spectrum Usage on Mobile Phones and Nationwide BWA

The Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications (MIC) has compiled a summary of the results of the FY2023 Survey on Actual Radio Spectrum Usage pertaining to mobile phones and nationwide BWA. Accordingly, MIC announces a summary in accordance with the provisions of Article 26-2, Paragraph 2 of the Radio Act (Act No. 131 of 1950).

1. Survey overview

(1) Survey subject
Radio stations for mobile radio communications and broadband mobile radio access systems (limited to nationwide BWA) in operation as of the end of March 2023.
(2) Survey items and methodology
The survey items and methods specified in Article 5 of the Ministerial Ordinance on Actual Radio Spectrum Usage Concerning Survey on Actual Radio Spectrum Usage and Evaluation of the Degree of Effective Utilization of Radio Spectrum Usage (Ministerial Ordinance of MIC No. 110 of 2002)

2. Publicly disclosed material

Summary of the Results of the FY2023 Survey on Actual Radio Spectrum Usage on Mobile Phones and Nationwide BWA (see the attachment)

3. How to obtain material

The attachment is available for inspection and distribution at the Land Mobile Communications Division, Radio Department, Telecommunications Bureau (10th floor of MIC).
Also, the attachment is made available for inspection at each Regional Bureau of Telecommunications (including the Okinawa Office of Telecommunications).
