Approval of Amendments to the Articles of Agreement Concerning Interconnection to Designated Telecommunications Facilities of NTT East and NTT West (hereinafter referred to as the "Approval")
- Report from Information and Communications and Posts Administrative Council -
On Wednesday, October 2, 2024, the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications (MIC) consulted the Information and Communications and Posts Administrative Council, chaired by AIDA Hitoshi, specially-appointed professor at the University of Tokyo, regarding the Approval (Consultation No. 3185 dated October 2, 2024). The first opinion solicitation was conducted from Thursday, October 3, 2024, to Friday, November 1, 2024, followed by the second solicitation from Monday, November 11, 2024, to Sunday, November 24, 2024.
Today, the MIC has received a report from the Council stating that it is appropriate to approve the amendments as consulted.
Based on this report, the MIC plans to promptly approve them.

Method for calculating Interconnection Charges for the remaining Subscriber Optical Fiber lines, etc. [Approval is appropriate]
Nippon Telegraph & Telephone East Corporation and Nippon Telegraph & Telephone West Corporation (NTT East and West) submitted applications for approval of the method for calculating their interconnection charges for the remaining subscriber optical fiber lines, which involves changes to the Articles of Agreement Concerning Interconnection to Category Designated Telecommunications Facilities.
2. Results of the solicitation for opinions and the report
On Wednesday, October 2, 2024, the MIC consulted the Information and Communications and Posts Administrative Council regarding the Approval.
The MIC solicited opinions on this Approval from Thursday, October 3, 2024, to Friday, November 1, 2024, and received four opinions.
Subsequently, the MIC conducted the second opinion solicitation from Monday, November 11, 2024, to Sunday, November 24, 2024, and received three opinions.
Today, the MIC received a report from the Council stating that it is appropriate to approve the amendments as consulted.
3. Upcoming schedule
Based on the results of the opinion solicitations and the report, the MIC will promptly approve the amendments.
