January 29, 2025 Revision of the Implementation Policy (for Budget allocated to the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications) for the Space Strategy Fund

 Today, the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications (MIC) revised the “Implementation Policy (for budget allocated to MIC)”, which determines the technical development themes to be implemented under the Space Strategy Fund (formulated on April 26, 2024).

1. Purpose

 In order to create the Space Strategy Fund, MIC has set aside 24 billion yen in the supplementary budget for FY2023, and on Friday, April 26, 2024, it formulated the “Implementation Policy (for budget allocated to MIC)” that defines the technical development themes to be implemented using this budget.
 The “Implementation Policy (for budget allocated to MIC)” has been revised and is now available for public viewing.

2. Themes for revision of the Implementation Policy

 Development and demonstration of exploration technology for water resource on the moon's surface (sensing technology)

3. Future plans

 JAXA will open a public call for companies in accordance with relevant laws and regulations as well as the Basic Policy and Implementation Policy.
