February 3, 2025 “Beyond 5G ready showcase” Event at Expo 2025 Osaka, Kansai, Japan

　The Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications (MIC) will be holding the “Beyond 5G ready showcase” during Expo 2025 Osaka, Kansai, Japan (Venue: Yumeshima, Osaka). This event will be held from May 26 (Mon.) 2025 – June 3 (Tues.) 2025 and will let visitors experience the society of the future, and cutting-edge technologies, that will be brought about by next generation information communications.

1. Summary

　The MIC has published the “Strategy for Realizing Next-Generation Information and Communication Infrastructure to Support AI Society - Beyond 5G Promotion Strategy 2.0 -” (August 30, 2024) to realize Beyond 5G, the next-generation information and communication infrastructure, and is promoting various policies.
　As part of its initiatives based on this strategy, the MIC will hold the “Beyond 5G ready showcase” during Expo 2025 Osaka, Kansai, Japan. This event will spread information to the world regarding Japan’s Beyond 5G efforts.
　This event is aimed at a wide variety of visitors coming to the Expo, and it provides an opportunity to experience the image of society and lifestyles in the future where Beyond 5G is realized, with an emphasis on reality and immersion. In addition, there will be exhibits on Japan’s research and development and cutting-edge technologies related to Beyond 5G, and the showcase further promotes international collaboration, build friendships in standardization activities, societal implementation and overseas deployment.
　This event will also be held virtually, enabling people to experience events and shared content held at the venue in Yumeshima, Osaka through a virtual space on the website, so that many people can experience them.

　Both an on-site event and a virtual event will be held, so that many people in Japan and overseas can experience the event.
