August 8, 2025 Approval of Certified Time-Stamping Services

 The Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications (MIC) today approved the Time-Stamping Services applied for certification by Science Park Corporation (President: SHOJI Koichiro) and WingArc1st Inc. (President: TANAKA Jun) as certified services.

1. Background, and other details

 The Regulations Concerning the Certification of Time-Stamping Services (MIC Notice No. 146 of 2021; hereinafter the "MIC Notice") stipulate that the Minister of Internal Affairs and Communications may approve the Time-Stamping Services that issue timestamps reliably and stably as certified services.
 The MIC received applications for the certification of Time-Stamping Services from Science Park Corporation (President: SHOJI Koichiro) and WingArc1st Inc. (President: TANAKA Jun) in accordance with Article 3, Paragraph 2 of the MIC Notice, and examined these applications. As a result, the applications were deemed to meet the requirements stipulated in Paragraph 1 of the same article and were approved as certified Time-Stamping Services.
 This certification will be publicly announced separately in accordance with Article 3, Paragraph 4 of the MIC Notice.

3. Provision of information related to verification

 Information on the Time-Stamping Services, as well as electronic certificates for the Services, will be available on the MIC website to promote their use for verifying the timestamps issued by certified Time-Stamping Services or for other related purposes.

Note: Time-stamping is a technology used to prove that electronic data existed at a certain time and has not been tampered with since then. This technology enables users to easily and reliably verify that the data has not been tampered with by comparing the information in the timestamp with that of the original electronic data.
