February 24, 2026 Opinion of the Minister for Internal Affairs and Communications Attached to Japan Broadcasting Corporation’s Income and Expenditure Budget, Business Planning, and Financial Planning for FY2026

　The Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications (MIC) has today submitted an inquiry to the Radio Regulatory Council about the opinion of the Minister for Internal Affairs and Communications to be attached to the fiscal 2026 income and expenditure budget, business plan, and funding plan of the Japan Broadcasting Corporation (also known as NHK). MIC received a report from the Council stating the appropriateness of the opinion to be attached as inquired.
　MIC will soon submit to the Diet, via the Cabinet, NHK’s budget, business plan, and financial plan for fiscal 2026, together with the opinion of the Minister for Internal Affairs and Communications, along with NHK’s mid-term management plan.
