May 29, 2026 Selection Results for Regions to Be Supported and Accompanied Support Providers in FY 2025 Supplementary Budget “Regional Community DX Promotion Package Project (Support for Establishing a Promotion System)”

― Support for Establishing a New Industry Academia Government Collaboration Organization for Regional Community DX ―

　The MIC conducted public solicitation of accompanied support providers in support for establishing a promotion framework in regional community DX. As 4 regions to be supported and accompanied support providers are selected and will be announced.

1 Overview

　As population decline, aging, and economic structural changes have been progressing, it is important to solve regional issues through labor saving measures and regional revitalization via the implementation of digital technology (regional community DX) in order to create sustainable local communities and achieve a robust regional economy.

　For this purpose, the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications will implement the "Regional Community DX Promotion Package Project" that aims to create good examples of digital implementation and to put them to practical use nationwide as soon as possible through comprehensive measures, such as assistance for securing digital talent/systems, demonstration of advanced solutions including AI and automated driving, demonstration of advanced wireless systems, and assistance for local telecommunications infrastructure development.

　As part of this project, targeting local governments that desires to establish and enhance their regional promotion systems and address regional issues making use of digital technologies, through support by accompanied support providers, the MIC has decided to establish and enhance the Regional Community DX Promotion System and provide support for establishing a promotion framework that support measures for regional DX including the ones that contribute to “Wide-Area Region Collaboration”.

　On this occasion, based on the evaluation results by the evaluation council consisting of external experts, the MIC have selected regions to be supported and accompanied support providers and announces the results as follows. From now on, accompanied support will be provided for the regions to be supported by the accompanied support providers in order.
