Input - Output Tables for Japan have been compiled every five years since 1955 jointly by ministries and agencies concerned under the "Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications"(known as "Management and Coordination Agency"(July 1984 - January 2001) , "Administrative Management Agency"until June 1984).
The 9th publication of the 1995 Input-Output Table was published in May 1999 (English version was also published in March 2000).it is the latest achievement accomplished as a joint effort project of 11 ministries and agencies, namely, the Management and Coordination Agency, the Economic Planning Agency, the Ministry of Finance, the Ministry of Education, the Ministry of Health and Welfare, the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries, the Ministry of International Trade and Industry, the Ministry of Transport, the Ministry of Posts and Telecommunications, the Ministry of Labour and the Ministry of Construction.
The 1995 Input-Output Tables are commodity-by-commodity tables as were their predecessors and valued at producers' price and purchasers' price. They are recorded in 519 rows and 403 columns matrix form based on the most detailed classification. Aggregated Tables classified by 184, 93 and 32 sectors were published together withInput Coefficient Table andInverse Matrix Coefficient Table calculated from above aggregated tables. Besides,the various supplementary tables such as the Table on Trade Margin, Domestic Freight, Import, Scrap and By-Products, Employment, Employment Matrix, Fixed Capital Formation Matrix, Commodity Output by Industry( Make table ) ,Transaction on Quantity, and Self-Transportation Matrix are also published.
