It is a great pleasure to extend my sincere congratulations on the 30th anniversary of the Asian Ombudsman Association.
The AOA traces its origins to the first Asian Ombudsman Conference, held on April 15 and 16, 1996. From that important beginning, the Association has grown steadily into a respected regional body for cooperation and dialogue. I am truly delighted to convey my message of celebration on this memorable occasion.
Over the past three decades, the AOA has made a substantial contribution to the development of ombudsmanship in the Asian region, advancing good governance, fairness, and respect for the rule of law. Since its establishment, Japan’s Administrative Evaluation Bureau of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications has continuously served as a member of the AOA Board, reflecting our enduring commitment to the objectives and values shared by this Association.
I deeply admire the spirit of cooperation and the passion for justice that lie at the heart of the AOA. These qualities have long guided its activities and continue to inspire the ombudsman community across the region.
On behalf of the Administrative Evaluation Bureau, I am honored to celebrate this significant milestone together with all AOA members. I sincerely hope that the AOA will continue to thrive and play an ever greater role in promoting ombudsmanship in the region in the years to come.
